- topic: cooking_with_recipe - meal: Dinner - cuisine: American - difficulty: Medium - date: 2026-03-17 ## Serves / Time / Why it works Serves 4 | ~25 minutes | Quick-seared cubes develop crust fast; finishing butter/garlic coats everything without overcooking. ## Ingredients - 1.5 lbs sirloin or strip steak, cut into 1-inch cubes - 1 lb broccoli florets - 2 tbsp olive oil, divided - 3 tbsp butter - 4 cloves garlic, minced - 1 tsp smoked paprika - 1 tsp kosher salt; 1/2 tsp black pepper - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce - Optional: pinch red pepper flakes; lemon wedges to finish ## Method 1) Toss broccoli with 1 tbsp oil, half the salt/pepper. Roast at 425Β°F for 12β14 minutes until tender-crisp, or steam lightly. 2) Pat steak dry; season with paprika, remaining salt/pepper. 3) Heat large skillet over medium-high; add 1 tbsp oil. Sear steak bites in batches 2β3 minutes, turning to brown. Remove to a plate (medium-rare to medium). 4) Lower heat to medium. Add butter to skillet; when foamy, add garlic and red pepper flakes if using; cook 30 seconds. 5) Return steak and broccoli to skillet; add Worcestershire; toss 30β60 seconds to coat in garlic butter. 6) Finish with lemon squeeze if desired; serve immediately. ## Tips - Donβt crowd the pan; sear in batches for good crust. - Use a stainless or cast iron skillet for best browning; preheat well. - For meal prep, keep steak slightly underdone and reheat gently to avoid toughness.
